Keeping myself busy

Yay for Amy! She's following my blog! Probably just to avoid a supernatural voodoo doll attack, but hey I'll take what I can get. Maybe she can convince some other people we know to do the same.

(I'm influential)

I need to clean my pantry cupboard. I went and opened it today and something growled at me, reached an arm out and shut the door. I didn't think the bagels had been in there THAT long.

(I'm a mad scientist)

Sometimes at work, when I'm bored and the exact circumstances present themselves, I am hilarious. If the customer is a friend of mine, or seems reasonably close to my age and also presents themself in a way that shows they might have a sense of humor I drop this bomb on them. But only only ONLY if they pay in cash and only only ONLY if the change is exactly 5 cents. I say, "here's your nickel back...(pregnant pause as I hand over the coin)...no pun intended." 60% of the time, it works every time.

(I'm hilarious...and obviously pretty damn bored at work)

I had a job interview on Tuesday. It means I might be able to stop washing dishes (Damn I hate washing dishes) and there's a chance for decent hours this summer and full time in the fall. The only (glaring problem) is that the job is working in an (slightly higher class than DQ) ice cream joint. I need to take what I can get, but I still wish I could find a job in a place where I'm not competing with high school kids for a job. Or may be have just one job instead of three (even if one doesn't really count....yet)

Who doesn't want to feel like they've accomplished something with their day?

Inspirational music time! If not for this kinda stuff I'd be a gibbering looney.... I mean more than I already am I suppose.

Oh and next week I get to go home and see Jay! And some sort of action/geeky movie! And a comedy show at Yuk Yuks! And THE CRIPPLED GOD (yay new book!).

Jealous? You should just hang out with me more often.

...well maybe not right at this moment cause I seem to be coming down again with whatever the roommates had. I was feeling a bit crappy last week, but super crappy today.

That's me. I blogged today, damn but keeping myself busy is an eternal chore

I like pop?

Kate and Brad and Meg just sprayed water at me. I hate water droplets on my glasses, it's so goddamn annoying. Brad told me to blog about it so here I am. Bastards.

Has anybody else heard about this "couch friends" thing. Not to be confused with couch surfing, this is an event that takes place between platonic members of opposite sexes in which all involved sit on a ouch to watch television and movies. The key is it has to be platonic.

It's probably okay if you've never heard of it, I wouldn't be surprised. Chalk up another one in the weird column for the people I hang out with.

Jealous? You should be, the people I hang out with are awesomesauce. Duh. That's why I spend time with them.

Well usually awesomesauce, next time I'm not drinking by myself no matter what kind of beer pressure.(see what i did there? peer pressure/beer pressure? I'm hilarious. Man I love puns). A half glass of wine doesn't count Laura. But it was much better the next day when Amy found out she got the job she wanted. Congrats!

Get it? Couch....Friends? I hope everybody is laughing. Seriously. Pop culture references aren't my specialty.

Speaking of things I'm not good at ..... (insert some sort of crass sexual joke here you vultures) ...have you ever played the "bus" game? I'm not sure if it's ever been formalized, but I'm sure anyone who has ever taken the bus in this town on a regular basis has played, even without knowing it. Probably anyone who ever rides the bus on a reguar basis in the history of the universe has played/currently plays this game.

Ready?

The game is this: be the first to pull the bell/push the button for your stop.

That's all.

Or is it?

It's fun! But you have to be first, which is more difficult than it sounds, especially if you live on a university bus route and your bus is always packed toof the the brim everyday. No idea why the bus is so flipping busy on a Sunday at 4pm anyways.

The first rule about the bus game is you don't tak about the bus game!

The second rule of the bus games is YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE BUS GAME.

The third rule is you have to wait for the bus to start moving after coming to a complete stop at the bus stop before the one you want to get off at. It makes sense when I say it in my head.

Wow. Another pop culture reference. Yay for me!

More? Don't mind if I do

Anywho, I'm watching my roommates try to figure out my xbox. It's pretty funny, they accidentally turned it on and are now going through the arcade demos.

That's me. It's like watching a monkey play with Lego. Awwwww so cute.

It's all weird and crazy

I used to have a running joke with people about how "once you go Spammy, you never go back" as a kind of response to some extra curricular activities involving girls I dated at one point but was still "spending time with" after things had ended (or blown up spectacularly).

Well the other day it was more "once you go Spammy, you go stark raving nuts".

Seriously ladies, stay away

It's for your own good.

.....okay just kidding about the staying away part, cause I get kinda lonely sometimes. I just can't promise you'll be sane when I'm done with you is all.

Then again, I can't really promise I'll be sane when you're done with me.

I always did want super powers. This one is a sort of lame though.

Win/win? Maybe?

Sweet and Creepy = Sweepy

What's worse: Your friends making you a necklace with a bunch of their hair attached or you for wearing it?

Unfortunately it seems to be the latter. And being wasted is apparently no defense.

Also I still feel that it's unfair that people involved get to make fun of me.

Sweet and Creepy. Sums up the roomies in 2 words. And pretty much every last one of my friends on a regular basis.

That's me. I'm gunna learn how to make voodoo dolls, boy you'll all be sorry then.

Spammy power!

Brace yourselves people, it's been an eventful few days.

Are you braced yet?

How about now?

Okay, seriously, I'm not going to wait.

Fine, I'll just start then.

Now I can't remember where I was going with this.

So I was talking to myself the other day. I tend to do that when I'm alone in the house. Or think I'm alone. I wasn't. Apparently, I was kinda making plans to take over the world. Weird that. Even weirder that those plans might be working. Shhhhhhh!

So as it turns out, even being mindful of oddly successful plans for world domination, that I might not be in a rut after all. I just complain a lot I guess. I mean, work is always the same thing (and it kinda blows) and the love life (despite an interesting turn today) is still crappy, but after the week I had I can definitely say I'm not in a rut. It's also possible I never was. So there. That's good right?

Jay came to visit. It was awesome. We spent too much money on food, played video games, complained about girls, got wasted, did this thing where the asshole takes off on me and I drunkenly freak out for a few hours. Good times. Pretty much abandoned each other once the weekend hit though. I hate working weekends. It's nice to have him close by again, but if he takes off to the middle of nowhere again I am going to write him a strongly worded letter.

With bombs. Josh will help.

However, the whole reason Jay came to visit was because of our St. Patrick's Day plans. As days go, well that day kinda sucked for me. But that night....

made me feel like a celebrating drunken storm trooper.

That's why I like Star Wars. It applies to EVERYTHING. But seriously, it's been like 5 days and I still have green ink on my arm. Good night. It started with a bunch of drinks (and an attempt at a drinking game that didn't work cause everyone was too busy drinking) and ended with a drunken visit to work. And I must have heard the story about how Corrine knocked my brother on his ass during a foot ball game like a bazillion times. You know what? It was funny ever time I heard it. Also I had fun getting loaded and then taking turns with the girls discussing our love lives. Jay would have, but he was too busy complicating his own.

Not like we weren't trying to help. I had fun being sneaky with Laura and Amy. I think.

The details are still a little fuzzy. Unfortunately, the green marker is not.

As far as I remember (and the pictures prove it) I had a great night. Hey, nothing like listening to a bit of Killswitch Engage and then going out and getting trashed.

I like the part where Howard sings. That's the whole time. Might be my most favorite song in the whole world ever, and yes it is a fucking love song.

Wanna know something else? That wasn't even the end of the awesomeness.

My roomie had a speech to give at this cultural awareness night event thingy, so everyone who was in the house that evening tagged along. At first we were all like "maybe we'll just take off during intermission". But nope. We ended up having a great time and stayed for the entire thing.

IT was pretty much a showcase of talents and dancing and singing from all different cultures and backgrounds. It was awesome. People sang and danced and juggled and did a fashion show. It was a fun! My favorite part was this brother and sister who danced. The girl was doing a traditional dance from India and her brother did some amazing popping and locking. But it was great because the were on the stage at the same time, alternating and taking turns until the were both dancing together. It was a wonderful performance, not to mention the undertones of opposite worlds coming together. Great time. Also, best MC ever.

Is that the end Spammy? Heck no idiot, of course there's more.

Liv and Eric came to town! Yay! I like it when that happens. However I am slightly difficult to get ahold of what with the having no cell phone and all. Especially when I'm away at a cultural event thingy and not home to answer the phone. Oops.

But I was gotten ahold of! And it was great! Dinner out at Eastsides and just chatting away with good food and good (a lot, like 10) people. Plus we finally got more wedding pictures! Not like we were waiting for months or anything.

And then... BOWLING! I probably haven't gone bowling since Liv and Eric lived in town, years ago. I got a strike! Besides that I sucked the big one, since I blow at bowling. I had an ex who took it super seriously and tried to teach me. Didn't go so well. But I had fun, usually do when I'm busy throwing stuff at other stuff. Most amusing part of that night was Liv telling me "you don't need to hate someone to want to kill them". Remind me not to bother her too much anymore.

Second best part. Ninja turtle rap at the bowling alley.

I still remember all the words. And I proved it. My favorite part is when they call Raphael the leader of the turtles. It kinda bugs me. Maybe I should say most memorable part and not favorite.

That's me. Jealous anyone? You should be, my week was awesome.

Sit down!

Have you ever seen "Uncle Buck"?

It was probably on of the movies that defined my childhood, up there with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves. It's awesome watching childhood favourites, not only do you understand them more, but you can still understand why you like them in the first place.

I like to sit and watch movies. (I much prefer going and seeing them at the thatre though)

I like to sit and read.

I sit and blog all the freeking time.

I am also known for liking to sit and play video games.

I like sitting down to eat.

I like to sit and have a nice conversation with freinds in a restaurant or coffe shop.(even if coffee blows and I get weird looks for asking for ice tea or choclate milk)

I can sit and listen to music forever, someone playing, on the radio, on a computer, on a stereo.

Apparantly, I like to sit.

That's me. I blame my childhood for everything.

Stuck in a rut.

So I'm really bad at commenting on the blogs I follow, or even on blogs I don't follow that I stumble across after trolling the boards on 20sb.net. I feel like if I start commenting and putting myself out there than maybe I'll have more people who want to read this crap I post.

I should. But I probably won't. You see, I don't give a rat's ass about how many people follow my blog. Hell I don't even care all that much about the content. I've just been doing this for a while, it's part of who I am and how I live and I don't care much about what other people think about what I'm doing. Now don't get me wrong, I very much enjoy it when my friends and family tell me about visiting here, but my life doesn't really revolve around my stats counter. I started blogging for me and I'll continue blogging for me.

That all being said, someone just stopped following my blog. Kinda easy to notice around here. They are probably stupid.

Let the flame war begin!

I am missing out on a Keg party tonight. Why? Cause I'm tired and hafta work in the morning. Apparently I am also completely fucking lame.

I work a lot and it sucks. I also have my online course and a writing deadline (which I should get working on). I'm busy. But I never feel like I'm busy. I don't understand.

I've played a lot of Dragon Age 2. A lot. But I only really play video games when I get bored. Sometimes it's 2-3 hours a day, sometimes 2-3 hours a week. But when I get home from work I usually just want to sit on the counch and chill, so that's what I do.

It's bothering me that I've been rather predictable lately. To my surprise, my roommates have been making very accurate guesses as to my actions at any given moment. So I have come to the possible conclusion that I might be stuck in a rut.

I hate being stuck in ruts. That's how I end up working jobs I hate for longer than I realize I've been working them. That's how I end up being a boring ass tool. It drives me nuts. There is an upside. I AM earning money. Paying bills is part of being an adult. I just wish I could spend my time earning money doing something I actually enjoyed.

Or at the very least a job with weekends off.

Want to know what happens when I try to break out of ruts? I quit jobs, get restraining orders, spend too much money, break up with chicks I'm seeing, etc etc. So this time the goal will be to not do anything drastic or anything that might cause me to go crazy. Blogging only goes so far.

I'll let you know what I come up with.

Anyway.

Something else that keeps me sane.

Super awesome. I like part when the stringed instruments (the non-guitar ones) join in.

That's me. Apparently it's only a competition when Jay's winning.

I'm funny?

Liver and Eric might be coming down again!?!? Yay!!!! Actually after I thought about it I think it may have been mentioned by Matt at the party last Saturday and I might have forgot. Sometimes getting wasted does that to me. Weird.

So I bought Dragon Age 2. I may or may not have played it my entire day off after Brad convinced me I should go get it. I got back from the Mall at around 12:30. I didn't turn the Xbox off until 12:30. Do the math.

I have a problem.

Ish.

But I took bathroom and meal breaks! I swear!

Quick! Change the subject before people feel sorry and/or disgusted for/by you.

So I keep getting into facebook arguments with Jay. It's just a fact of life. I playfully poke at his foibles and he tries to counter with the most vicious shit he can think of. Brothers are like that sometimes. Anyway, lately he keeps saying "why don't you go blog about it".

So here I am. Blogging about it. Your move? Keep in mind I have no problems posting about your love life here. What a dumbass.

Look! A music video! I've never been a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold, but this song kicks ass.

I like how even thought Ombre is like a bazillion miles away (yup she's away at school....on the Sun) we still invite her to stuff we're doing and she responds. It is too bad that she can't actually join us, but she is pretty busy and all. Plus, I hear the profs on the Sun are full of hot air.

Get it? Cause the sun is hot? Actually that makes no sense because there isn't any air on the Sun. Then again, it's not like there are really any schools on the sun either. Are there? No, I'm pretty sure there aren't. Well like 90% anyway. Where was I going with this again?

OMFG! A timely distraction!

The roomies and I wanted the first episode of Robot Chicken Star Wars special (anyone else with a sense of humor and a rudimentary knowledge of star wars should watch it cause it's super awesome) and while I was trolling the internet for funny picture of stormtroopers to post here, I came across this little gem:

Take notes people, this is exactly how I want MY wedding to be.

Seriously.

....now I just need a girl who falls for the "Want to pet my wookie?" line.

That's me. Jay I swear to god if you steal this idea I'll give a family friendly best man speech at your wedding instead of the drunken inappropriate one everyone wants (and expects!). Also I might kill you.
