Quarter-life crisis?

Apparantly I've been suffering from a quarter-life crisis for the last 4 years or so. Which I'm told I'm still going through.

I'm finding this hard to believe as

1) This assumes I have any sort of human life.(you may or may not know that I have superpowers and therefore cannot be completely human)

2) Crisis implies a negative, but if this summer continues the way it has been going already then I'm going to have to stop saying "we never get to do what I want to do".

3) Unless you're assuming I'll beat the trend, shouldn't a quarter life crisis technically happen at age 20?

4) If Santa isn't real then how the hell do I keep finding cool shit under my bed?

5) My slightly awkward love of redheads is starting to diminish

6) I forgot what I was making a list about again.

7) This sort of thing happens a lot when I'm attempting to discover new music and write at the same time.

8) Boobs, dragons and lightsabers, just cause these things are awesome.

I keep coming up with great blog ideas, but then I never blog cause I'm slightly busy working and having fun all the time. Except today. Today I am nursing a godawful hangover and so you get the pleasure of my company. I spent the night doing the white guy shuffle with fine bunch of fellows that came in from out of town. We barbequed the shit out the place, and started drinking wwwaaayyy too early.

Today everyone else is going swimming at a shitty nearby man-made lake... and I am wish I could be there with a book making rude comments about people nearby while secretly checking out women.

(by secretly I mean awkwardly and obviously, cause I'm subtle like that)

I'm also pleasantly surprised at how uneventful the day is going (minus the headache and throwing up) since I drunk facebooked for like an hour last night, not to mention the game of "never have I ever" that I hope everybody forgot about. That game is pure fucking evil. But still fun.

Good times, good music, good people, good drinks.

That's me. Quarter-life crisis my ass.

Where am I?

Tonight was an absolutely beautiful night. To me, at least. A misty fog covering the streets in just-nice-enough-to-not-wear-a-jacket temperature. A perfect night to walk home from a late night at work. (Also, probably a perfect night for vampires). I, blissfully forgetful, come down the street and see that the lights are on in my living room, and for a second or 2 I idly wonder what everybody is up to. I like coming home to people laughing, it happens on a pretty regular basis around here.

Well it used to.

I know I said I'd try not to complain too much about people leaving, but seriously? This sucks more than an inbred redneck trying to make sweet sweet love to a doorknob. I just don't like it. Brad left. Meg left. Kate left. Becca left. Corinne, Laura and Amy are all gone too.

I did have a great time this last week (minus all the possibly permanent goodbyes). All kinds of awesome people in and out of the house, Chotchy's Hamilton friends, Becca's gals from Toronto a very cool bunch. And last night was all kinds of awesome. You see Becca, Kate and I got all dressed up (I wore a fucking tie!) and went out to dinner and a movie. And on the cab ride home? A quick, unplanned, necessary detour downtown for one last night dancing (by dancing I mean doing the "white guy shuffle") at Vinyl. Awesome.

But I have an even better story about that night too. I ran into an old friend of mine, a buddy I haven't seen since high school. It was completely unexpected, and really awesome. We stood outside the bar for like an hour trying to catch up and the whole thing was surreal and mind blowing. It was...good.

Something else on the bright side? Pant-less Tuesdays are back. And by pant-less Tuesdays I mean every moment I can be comfortable sure I have the entire house to myself. So pant-less Tuesday is going to happen at a lot of times that are not really Tuesday. But don't be too worried, I keep an emergency pair of basketball shorts for when somebody knocks on the door.

So yeah not so happy with everyone being not here, but not terribly bad off all things considered. I'll do my best to make sure this trend continues.

That's me. Stay tuned next time for slightly philosophical rambling. And maybe more feeling sorry for myself, we'll play it by ear.

Yay Thursdays!

So I had a great time last night. Even if my pants are muddy from LDH's route through the university on our rather vigorous drunken stumble home from the UC after the drunk bus dropped us off.

I didn't even really want to go out last night as I've been rather under the weather and only getting through work with copious amounts of aspirin and cough medicine. But I was convinced. Boy, good choice! Even though I'm hurting today. But I learned a valuable lesson, beer = cough suppressant.

So I'm having trouble describing how I know all the neato people I know, but it goes something like this:
I'm one of the red lines! Maybe?

Okay so a bunch of people I know won the intramural flag football championship and they were having a big party to celebrate. So the roomies and I went to a house where some of the players live (who are known to us cause we're all couch friends) to pre-drink, and then to another house belonging to a bunch of people whose relationships to each other I was having difficulty trying to figure out (cause I'm stupid when I'm drunk) to drink even more, and then we made yet another stop at a bar downtown.

Make sense? Get it? Probably not. All you really need to know was there were a bunch of friends involved as well as a bunch of cute girls I introduced myself to, and we all got trashed.

I also learned a bunch of new drinking games (games that are apparently pretty common....) that involve spinning coins and putting ping pong balls into plastic cups sitting on other plastic cups. We also played some I've played before....but nobody took my word that I suck at flip cup and therefore eventually got banned cause I suck at flip cup.

Whatever, more time for drinking! Plus some dude brought tequila! I love tequila! Even if Channy asked me like a bazillion times if I watched her take the shot with me.

The bar was great (but it gets a bit fuzzy at that point) but my voice has got that strained low growl type thing going on that meant I was singing (read: screaming off key) along to songs I know, and my legs are wobbly so I was definitely doing the "white guy shuffle" on the dance floor all night. Good signs.

But I'm pretty sure I drunkenly talked about women again, not so much a good sign. But hey, take the good with the bad right?

Speaking of which,

Okay so the little brother introduced me to this...thing. I'm not sure if I like it, but it's funny enough to post here. Even non-metal fans will love it. Actually non-metal fans will probably like it more.

That's me. Work is gunna be rough. Worth it.
